Combating Mommy Burn Out

I am feeling 100% burned out today. Could be the rainy weather, or the fact that I haven't eaten much, and I could really use a nap. It's been that kind of week actually. What mommy doesn't have these days? I guess I should mention I also gave up caffeine this week. Yeah, there's a lot going on and so much attributing to this feeling of "blah!"

What do you do when you're dragging?

Here are a couple of quick tips I am about to partake in to diffuse the burn out:

1. Rest! Everyone needs to unwind from the go, go, go. For me, that will come in the form of a cat nap. Making sure 8 hours of sleep happen nightly is another sure way to keep your energy up during the day. Don't ever underestimate the power of rest! 

2. This goes without saying, but, eat well and stay active. Eating well has been critical to my energy boosts as of late and getting out to be active simply lifts my spirits, 100% of the time. I am headed out now to energize my mind, body and soul with good food and a pleasant walk! 

3. Meditate. This is an essential practice that takes just that, practice. Spend time everyday in a quiet space focused on your breathing. Don't let your thoughts take over. Do everything to only focus on your breath and find yourself feeling less burned out in no time. For some meditation can be substituted with prayer or journaling. Whatever the activity, engage in it to keep burn out at bay.
