Annual Book Challenge

I love the website GoodReads. It's like Facebook for bookworms. Here I can keep track of books I have read, what I want to read and what my friends are reading. I love this app because when I am at the library and have no idea what book to get I can pull up my "Want-To-Read" list and come home with a stack of books I want to read. Or if someone mentions a book I can quickly add it to my list. I also love the annual reading challenge!

Some years I give myself a really big goal. Other years I have tried to make it more interesting and read authors from A-Z. Last year my challenge was to read the entire Harry Potter series. This year I went with a manageable 50 books. So far 2 down and 48 to go! So what am I looking forward to reading this year? Here are a few...

Rainbow Rowell quickly became one of my favorite authors after reading her book "Park and Eleanor". Everything I have read from her has been close to perfection. I have been anxiously awaiting the release of this novel and cannot wait to see what sweet tale she weaves this time.

One of my favorite podcasts is "For Crying Outloud". For a few weeks the hosts could not stop talking about the book "You" by Caroline Kepnes. They even had the author on the show. Of course I read the book and loved the suspenseful story of a crazy stalker. If "Hidden Bodies" is as good as her other book I know this one will be a really quick read.

Sometimes the thought of getting through an entire novel is too much. That is when a short story anthology is a perfect fit. This new anthology filled with 12 twelve love stories and I have a feeling this one will be in my beach bag this summer.

I am a sucker for celebrity memoirs. I love them. Over the holiday break my younger cousin Ashley turned me on to the Disney show "Girl Meets World". This is the spin off from one of my favorite shows as a kid "Boy Meets World".  In this new series Corey and Topanga are now the parents. Danielle Fishel is the actress that plays Topanga and she has just released her memoir. I am looking forward to reading all about her life as a child actor and what she did in between her television shows.

What are you looking forward to reading this year?
